KALEIDOSCOPE | Episode 1 | Art and empathy
A cross-cultural conversation bridging Italy and Malaysia. The discussion will focus on how art can generate empathy and on how empathy is a means to overcome moments of fragility.

About Wei Ling
Lim Wei-Ling is the founder of eponymous galleries-Wei-Ling Gallery and Wei-Ling Contemporary, leading art galleries that specialize in promoting and representing contemporary Malaysian art and introducing internationally renowned artists to Malaysian audiences.
She has been a protagonist in promoting and exposing Malaysian art to an international audience through participation in international art fairs and in organizing exhibitions of Malaysian art overseas.
In 2019, she initiated and was the curator for ‘Holding Up a Mirror’ Malaysia’s first ever National pavilion at the 58th La Biennale di Venezia, which was commissioned by the National Art Gallery of Malaysia and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia.The pavilion featured four prominent Malaysian artists, Anurendra Jegadeva, Ivan Lam, HH Lim and Zulkifli Yusoff.
Lim Wei-Ling also serves as the President of Badan Warisan Malaysian (the Heritage Trust of Malaysia).
About Angelo Larocca
Psychologist by training, behavioral designer by chance, geek by heart.
When he was three, he continually bothered his dad asking him to read all the billboards along the road, and his curiosity hasn’t shrunk a bit ever since: comic books, tv series, music, movies, and books of every genre are on his daily menu.
Up until graduating, he never would have thought to end up working in an organization. He somehow stumbled in Digital Attitude and discovered a new passion to add to the fold. In Digital Attitude, Angelo is Head of Behavioral Design, coordinating the team that studies and design how to create, maintain, and reinforce new habits linked to how people in organizations use technology. Together, they dream of changing the world, one nudge at a time.
About Kenneth Feinstein
Kenneth Feinstein is an artist, theorist, curator and writer. He has exhibited creative works internationally, including solo exhibitions at the Chelsea Art Museum, New York City, and the Jogja Nasional Museum, Jogjakarta, Indonesia and group exhibitions at the Millennium Museum in Beijing, the National Visual Art Gallery Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, and the Museum of the World Ocean, Kaliningrad, Russia. His writings focus on media theory and philosophy. He has published books, articles and given talks on issues surrounding the ethics of new media practice. He is the author of The Image That Doesn’t Want to Be Seen, Apropos Press, 2010 and The Promise of Photography, Intellect, Ltd. 2015.
Dr. Feinstein has a Masters and PhD in Media Philosophy from the European Graduate School in Switzerland. His BA is in documentary film and photography from Hampshire College in the USA. He is Associate Professor at the Centre for Research-Creation in Digital Media at Sunway University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
About Benedetta Cecchini
Benedetta Cecchini is a MSc student in Management at Bocconi University. She is part of Culturit, an Italian network of university students, professors and professionals. Culturit offers consulting services to socio-cultural entities and supports them in elaborating a better strategy for the management and the promotion of their assets. Benedetta was one of the speakers in "A Student's Diary", Culturit's series of events on the theme of 'fragility' designed in collaboration with Particle.
About Adam Phong
Adam Phong is a 18 year old Malaysian artist who currently studies at the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA). He works primarily in oils. His work scrutinises the human condition and explores the mundane. He is fascinated by the imagery produced by everyday acts of routine and strives to capture the earnest and uncontrived moments in life.
